Mark Twain Quote
Man has been here 32,000 years. That it took a hundred million years to prepare the world for him is proof that that is what it was done for. I suppose it is. I dunno. If the Eiffel tower were now representing the world's age, the skin of paint on the pinnacle-knob at its summit would represent man's share of that age; & anybody would perceive that that skin was what the tower was built for. I reckon they would. I dunno.

That is not dead which can eternal lie, yet with stranger aeons, even Death may die.
H.P. Lovecraft
In the belief of reincarnation, the "soul" is constantly passing into new bodies and the space in between births is thought to be seemingly short to the living and very long to the deceased (It is believed that the longer you stay in a meditative state of peace while living the space between death and life shortens,) this is why you cannot remember pasty lives, they feel VERY distant.

Tao Te Ching 72
When men lack a sense of awe, there will be disaster.
Do not intrude in their homes.
Do not harrass them at work.
If you do not interfere, they will not weary of you.
Therefore the sage knows himself but makes no show,
Has self-respect but is not arrogant.
He lets go of that and chooses this.

“The world is like a ride in an amusement park.
And when you choose to go on it you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are.
And the ride goes up and down and round and round.
It has thrills and chills and it's very brightly coloured and it's very loud and it's fun, for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time and they begin to question: "Is this real, or is this just a ride?"
And other people have remembered, and they come back to us, they say, "Hey, don't worry, don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride."
And we kill those people.”

The Arrow of Time feat. Sean Carroll
Part of the universe being born of a black hole
Entropy is lesser in the beginning of the universe because it came from a black hole. The black hole ripped matter down to it simplest elements and spit them into this new realm to cool, congeal and become more complex.
Friday, May 18, 2012
The creation of a black hole is the creation of a new universe.
This is something that I have believed in for quite some time, it just makes sense when you look at it from a physics stand point.
A black hole by definition resides within a singularity, a thing which is cut off from EVERYTHING else, that little bit breaks off from our reality and starts a new one.
The new reality grows from matter being sucked into the singularity, the connection eventually fades as black hole don't last forever.

Lakota
Lakota spirituality is based on the circle. The Lakota saw the journey of life and death as a circular process. They also interacted with one another in a circular fashion, rather than in a struggle for domination.
The Lakota even used the circle’s symbolism in their architecture. Their houses (which are known as tipis) had circular foundations."Everything the Power does, it does in a circle." Lakota Proverb
"Creation is continuous." Lakota Proverb
"I am standing at the Earth’s center." Lakota Proverb
"A man’s life is a circle from childhood to childhood, and thus it is in everything where the power moves." Black Elk
"The power of the world always works in circles." Black Elk
"The center of the universe is everywhere." Black Elk
The Lakota Indians
This is very similar to the teachings in the Tao

From the Tao Te Ching
18
When the great Tao is forgotten,
Kindness and morality arise.
When wisdom and intelligence are born,
The great pretence begins.
When there is no peace within the family,
Filial piety and devotion arise.
When the country is confused and in chaos,
Loyal ministers appear.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Polarity
If I were to have both a
good attitude at times
and also a bad one at
other times
am I not still ME at ALL
times?
Or am I one person,
another person,
or just ONE complex being?
This is just like the cat
in the box (in physics) being both alive and dead until observed. Positive and
negative are perspective, so reality is more complex and subtle than
just black and white.

“...No calamity is greater than underestimating opponents. If you underestimate opponents, you're close to losing your treasure...”
People's starvation
From the Tao Te Ching
When people are starving, it is because their governments take too much,
causing them to starve.
When people are hard to control,
It is because of the contrivances of their governments,
which make them hard to control.
When people slight death,
it is because of the earnestness with which they seek life;
that makes them slight death.
Only those who do not contrive to live are wise in valuing life.

When the world has the Way.
From the Tao Te Ching
When the world has the
Way,
running horses are retired
to till the fields.
When the world lacks the
Way,
war-horses are bred in the
countryside.
No crime is greater than
approving of greed;
no calamity is greater
than discontent,
no fault is greater than
possessiveness.
So the satisfaction of
contentment is always enough.
Success
From the Tao Te Ching
All beings work, without exception:
if they live without possessiveness,
act without presumption,
and do not dwell on success,
then by this very non-dwelling
success will not leave.
All beings work, without exception:
if they live without possessiveness,

The Feelies
Aldous Huxley wrote about the feelies in his book, a brave new world. They were akin to our movies today but the watcher would be plugged into something that would allow them to feel the sensations of the characters on screen. Now we have movies and shows that are latent with psychological cues for our bodies to produce certain emotional responses which bring about real chemical changes in our bodies; as our organs and glands produce excretions when stimulated.
You should be mindful of how you feel when watching TV or movies and how you feel after they are over.

Teachings of the TAO
From Lieh Tzu pt7
Some people think they can find satisfaction in good food, fine clothes, lively music, and sexual pleasure. however, when they have all these things, they are not satisfied. they realize that happiness is not simply having their material needs met. Thus, society has set up a system of rewards that go beyond material goods. these include titles, social recognition, status, and political power all wrapped up in a package called self fulfillment. Attracted by these prizes and goaded on by social pressure, people spend their short lives tiring body and mind to chase after these goals.
Perhaps this gives them the feeling that they have accomplished something in their lives, but in reality they have sacrificed a lot in life.
They can no longer see, hear, act, feel or think from their hearts.
Everything they do is dictated by whether it can get them social gains.
In the end they have spent their lives following other people's demands and never lived a life of their own.
How different is this from the life of a SLAVE or a PRISONER?
