When the world has the Way.
From the Tao Te Ching
When the world has the
Way,
running horses are retired
to till the fields.
When the world lacks the
Way,
war-horses are bred in the
countryside.
No crime is greater than
approving of greed;
no calamity is greater
than discontent,
no fault is greater than
possessiveness.
So the satisfaction of
contentment is always enough.
Success
From the Tao Te Ching
All beings work, without exception:
if they live without possessiveness,
act without presumption,
and do not dwell on success,
then by this very non-dwelling
success will not leave.
All beings work, without exception:
if they live without possessiveness,
act without presumption,
and do not dwell on success,
then by this very non-dwelling
success will not leave.

Beginnings
“What
we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make
a beginning. The end is where we start from.”

Nothing is black and white,
Everything is gray.
"you can't place blame, because blame is far too messy."
-Ani DiFranco
Everything is gray.
Polarity of mind is a very
dangerous thing, as all things in life are in a spectrum- very few
things exist in the extreme ends.
Living life with a polar mind is
like walking around with blinders on, you will not be able to see
what is just outside of your very small window.

The Feelies
Aldous Huxley wrote about the feelies in his book, a brave new world. They were akin to our movies today but the watcher would be plugged into something that would allow them to feel the sensations of the characters on screen. Now we have movies and shows that are latent with psychological cues for our bodies to produce certain emotional responses which bring about real chemical changes in our bodies; as our organs and glands produce excretions when stimulated.
You should be mindful of how you feel when watching TV or movies and how you feel after they are over.

Which is superior,
The grass or the mower?
-EB
Is the natural beauty of the grass with its graceful biology superior, or is the machinery of the mower better because it can chop the grass down?

Lieh Tzu pt7
Teachings of the TAO
From Lieh Tzu pt7
Some people think they can find satisfaction in good food, fine clothes, lively music, and sexual pleasure. however, when they have all these things, they are not satisfied. they realize that happiness is not simply having their material needs met. Thus, society has set up a system of rewards that go beyond material goods. these include titles, social recognition, status, and political power all wrapped up in a package called self fulfillment. Attracted by these prizes and goaded on by social pressure, people spend their short lives tiring body and mind to chase after these goals.
Perhaps this gives them the feeling that they have accomplished something in their lives, but in reality they have sacrificed a lot in life.
They can no longer see, hear, act, feel or think from their hearts.
Everything they do is dictated by whether it can get them social gains.
In the end they have spent their lives following other people's demands and never lived a life of their own.
How different is this from the life of a SLAVE or a PRISONER?

Be like a flowing river
I am a flowing river, never dry and never bursting, but always full.

This is how we should think of ourselves, constantly flowing with energy.
We, as well as everything else are in a state of constant transition and it is beautiful.
